Shattuck-St. Mary’s School seeks a long-term substitute to teach history for most of the spring term (approx. March 27th to May 26th, 2017).
Founded in 1858, Shattuck-St. Mary’s School (SSM) is an Episcopal, co-educational, college preparatory, independent boarding/day school serving 500 students in grades 6th-postgraduate from 37 states and over 30 countries. Set on a beautiful 250 acre campus south of Minneapolis/St. Paul in Minnesota, SSM offers a mix of traditional and progressive education, combining classroom and online learning to best prepare students for college and beyond. By cultivating creative and independent thinking, SSM fosters the transformation of its students to become citizens of integrity for an ever-changing world.
Duties include teaching five classes per day, including three sections of 10th Grade World History and two sections 12th Grade International Economics; classes are held between 8:00 – 3:10 each day. The long-term substitute will have access to the objectives and curriculum designed by the instructor for the classes. The International Economics course is taught in the blended model, which candidates can read about on our school website.
BA in History or another relevant field. Experience teaching high school preferred.
