Students, faculty, and alumni came together this weekend to celebrate the holiday season with the Faribault Community Choir Beau Chant in a performance on campus.

Several SSM faculty members and spouses sing in the choir, including Matt Inman (Science Teacher), Dan Ray (Academic Dean), and Ashley Russo (Curriculum Writer for schools in Korea and wife of Science Department Chair), while choir instructor James Yao serves as accompanist. Amanda Schaefer (Business Services Supervisor at a local clinic and wife of Upper School Director) recently joined as well.

The choir was excited to welcome guest soloist Zoie Reams ’10, a graduate of the SSM Vocal Performance Program and professional opera singer, who also spent time working with our student musicians last week. Ms. Reams sang solos in three pieces over the weekend, as the choir presented their celebration of the holiday season.

The Beau Chant Choir was established by Dione Belling, former choir director at SSM. “It’s about more than making music,” she told the Faribault Daily News. “Some really good friendships and ties have developed over the years.”
